My Story

Since I was 18 my interests and work have revolved around movement and healing. My own personal healing process from physical illness inspired my professional calling and helped me to celebrate the unique and powerful ways I learn and process information. I’m an adult who believes in the power of play and I practice through partner movement practices such as acro yoga, dancing, hiking near waterfalls, and making raw pizza.

Originally from the beautiful Skagit Valley in Washington, State, I have lived and worked all over the United States and have spent almost four years near Cape Town, South Africa before re-settling in Asheville, North Carolina.  My clients are often very invested in their own personal practice and healing. I am strongly committed to provide a safe and healing environment to folks in the queer and transgender community. I encourage everyone who walks through my doors to be an active participant in the process.

I practice integrative massage and bodywork and am a board certified and licensed massage therapist with national and state licenses. My work is additionally informed and influenced through my energetic bodywork training (and advanced apprenticeship) and my experience with transforming from an inactive and “sick” young adult to a professional flying trapeze artist acro yoga instructor, and co-founder of Sisonke Social Circus. I have been a licensed and active practitioner since 2005.

My past experience of recovering and transforming dis-ease to become a healer, professional athlete and performer, and director of social circus greatly inform my attitude and belief systems around personal growth and transformation. Being an adult that is able and capable of moving has taken a lot of work, and becoming an adult that values learning in the spirit of play is one of the greatest gifts in my life. I am passionate about helping others connect to the right tools and resources for them whether that is working with me or referring them to someone who resonates even more deeply.

Sisonke Circus

Sisonke Social circus inspires young individuals to develop their bodies, hearts and minds through the magic of circus, building bridges between each other and their diverse communities in the process. Participation in Sisonke is free to all participants.
